Before you tint your lashes or eyebrows, it’s so important to carry out a patch test. This helps to rule out any allergic reactions before you use the tint. We also recommend you carry out a patch test each time you are planning to apply the dye, as allergic reactions can develop over time. It’s especially important as the dye will be coming into close contact with your eye area, which is known to be sensitive and it’s better to be safe than sorry!
So how do you carry out a patch test with the Colorsport 30 Day Mascara and Brow Tint?
We recommend you plan the patch test 48 hours before you intend to tint your lashes or brows. First clean a small area on the inside of your elbow or ear then for the 30 Day Mascara, apply a small amount of each product onto the skin. If you’re using the 30 Day Brow Tint, mix a small amount of the two products together and apply 2-3 times, allowing it to dry between each application. Leave uncovered for 48 hours and keep the area dry. If you do not experience any reaction, you can continue to use the kits.
What happens if I am allergic?
This is very rare, but if you do experience any stinging, rash or burning sensation then rinse the area immediately with water and avoid using perfume or makeup on the area until the reaction has cleared. Unfortunately this would mean you will be unable to use our kits and we would advise contacting your doctor before using any hair colourant in the future.
